r there vary many places around jacksonville north carolina to catch big alligator garr and what do u use for bait?

It's my understanding that there are alligator gar in the cape fear river.  Not jacksonville, but close.

I live in Jacksonville.
They love top-water baits.
Bass lures they love..
i catch 1-2 footers in a creek near by
but i also heard the run hard out near Callahan
seen a picture of  a 4ft one
but they love bass lures
ZOOM BAIT  works great
